Land Survey Crew - Duties, Responsibilities & Other

Experience

· Part of a field crew preforming FDOT surveys, Utility surveys, ALTA surveys, boundary, topographic, and construction layout. 

Skills: 

· Proficient with Trimble survey equipment and other basic survey field equipment.

Duties

· Responsible for using survey equipment to preform FDOT surveys, ALTA surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, utility surveys, and construction layout as directed by field crew leader.

· Must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, and work in all weather conditions and climates, willing to work evenings/weekends when required, willing to travel for overnight and extended stay projects as required.

· Desire to advance in the survey industry by learning new skills and obtaining certifications such as CST, Drone License, etc. 

· Ability to perform some equipment maintenance tasks a plus.

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED required. 

· Minimum of 2+ years of experience required.

· Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

· Performance Expectations

· Participate in cross - training as requested to build a stronger team

· Communicate your workflow needs to your team and to your supervisor

· Accurately records and reports daily forms per project requirements

· Communicates effectively with client, contractor, staff, and supervisor

· Proactively resolves problems at the lowest level

· Adheres to project scope, schedule, and budget

· Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting

· Submits accurate time sheets, mileage, and expense reports on time each week

· Reviews jobsite safety daily and takes immediate action to document and resolve issues

· Understands OSHA Safety Standards and USMI corporate policies and always follows them

· Accurately record and report your work each day on the forms provided

· Perform all task assignments using required industry standards
